Marco Vacca

Fotoreporter dal 1990 dopo aver lavorato in altri ambiti della fotografia professionale, ha prodotto storie su Israele, Iraq, Medio Oriente, Rwanda, Kosovo, Sud Sudan, Darfur, Ciad, Ghana, Giappone, Emirati Arabi. Ha seguito le elezioni presidenziali in USA nel 2000 e documentato New York dopo l’attentato alle Twin Towers; Si è divertito a raccontare la passione degli italiani per il fitness da cui è scaturita una mostra ed un libro dal titolo “Body in Italy” . Ha pubblicato “Refugees” un lavoro sulla condizione delle popolazioni del Darfur la cui mostra è stata esposta ai musei del Vittoriano a Roma ed allo spazio Forma a Milano. Si è cimentato con la multimedialità per raccontare la piaga dell’Aids in Kenia.. Si sta occupando dei mutamenti nell’area mediorientale/africana ed i flussi migratori verso l’Europa che ne derivano. Una selezione dei suoi lavori sulle rivoluzioni in Egitto e Tunisia è stata ospite al New York Photo Festival. Il suo reportage sulla carestia in Sud Sudan è stato premiato nel World Press Photo 1999. è Getty Images contributor Vive a Milano.

MA in Philosophy and History,  since 1990 he has been working for major Italian and foreign press, producing stories from  the Middle East, Rwanda, Iraq, Kosovo, South Sudan, Darfur; Ghana, Japan, Balcans and the Arab Emirates. he has published “Body in Italy” a book documenting the Italian passion for fitness and  “Refugees” a photo reportage on conflicts in South Sudan and Darfur. These photos had their opening  in Rome, an updated selection was shown in Milano  at Forma(International Center of Photography). In 1999 his story on hunger in South Sudan won an award at the World Press Photo.  He has produced a multimedia on the plague of HIV/AIDS in Kenia, documented  the revolutions  in Middle East/Africa. A selection of these last work were exibited at the New York  photofestival.
